Our National Parks

Overcrowded, deteriorating, in ecological turmoil… that’s how some people would describe our national parks. While that may be true of the more popular places, not all parks are suffering from too much traffic. National Geographic Traveler put together a great list of the most unspoiled national parks in both the U.S. and Canada to help us choose destinations with pristine conditions and without crowds.

What’s your favorite national park? Leave a comment with your thoughts or send me a photo.

I’m partial to Rocky Mountain National Park because it’s in my backyard. But the most extraordinary park I’ve seen (so far) would have to be Volcanoes National Park in Hawaii. Probably because we don’t see too much liquid hot magma this side of the Rockies.

Here are a few photos of Colorado National Monument, a little-known park about as far west as you can get in Colorado and not be in Utah.Colorado_Monument_Rocks.JPG Colo_Monument_Sign.JPGColorado_National_Monument.JPG
