Trip of a Lifetime: Machu Picchu

Yes, you can take a train to the top, but where’s the fun in that? The real way to experience Machu Picchu is to hike the Inca Trail like Chris and Sarah did. This Peruvian adventure is on my life’s list of to-do’s, that’s for sure. Thanks for sharing, Sarah! Many happy travels!

Maccu_Piccu_3_Llama.JPG“My husband Chris and I recently traveled to Peru and hiked the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. We had a blast! The most extreme part of the 4 day hike was climbing over 3,000 feet in one day to reach “Dead Woman’s Pass” at 14,000 feet. Gaining this much altitude in one day made this part of the hike difficult but the views from the top were well worth it.

My husband is still in school so money can be tight. That’s why we were so excited when we discovered Sierra Trading post last year. We can find affordable brand name hiking clothes and gear that doesn’t break the bank. Thanks Sierra Trading Post!”
