Brand Spotlight on Woolrich
Did you know Woolrich is credited with being the first apparel company to put zippers in men’s trousers? Founded in the early 1800’s, Woolrich truly is “The Original Outdoor Clothing Company.” In fact, thanks to its reputation for quality craftsmanship and rugged design, Woolrich is one of the few outdoor brands to span two centuries.
In the early days, founder John Rich traveled from logging camp to logging camp selling his rugged and durable apparel. And in 1830, when he opened the Woolrich mill in what’s now known as Woolrich, Pennsylvania, it became the country’s first woolen mill and manufacturer – famous for producing quality wool products designed for protection from the harsh eastern elements.
Flash forward to today. While Woolrich may no longer have the only woolen mill in the country, they’re still creating quality wool and non-wool apparel. Their versatile, durable, and dependable line of clothing includes the Woolrich sweaters they’re famous for, as well as Woolrich jackets, Woolrich shirts, and even Woolrich pants, shorts, and skirts. Updated to outfit each new generation, Woolrich apparel fuses the quality traditions of the past with the modern needs of the present.
