America Has Gone to the Dogs: Video

Dog_dressed_as_Yoda.JPGAmerica loves dogs.

We love dogs
more than we love movies, video games, and music combined. We love dogs more than cars… and definitely more than football players.

People are outraged over Falcon QB Michael Vick’s dogfighting ring. Just yesterday a woman paid $7400 on ebay for dog-chewed Michael Vick collector cards. The proceeds from this auction, and ones like it, are going to the Humane Society. Read More »

Hiking and Crazy Mountain Biking: Video

aspen_hiking_trail.JPGFall is just around the corner and there’s no better time of year to take a hike. The weather is getting milder, the leaves will soon be changing, and the sun is getting a little less intense.

Now is the perfect time to hit the trail.

They’re participants in the Wild West Relay and they recently ran 195 miles over Rabbit Ears Pass and the Continental Divide to soak in the natural hot springs of Steamboat.

The relay is a two-day race where teams of 6 and teams of 12 take turns completing the 36 legs of the journey. Some run during the day, some run through the night, and no one gets any sleep. A friend of ours, Javier Cortez, sent us this photo of his team at the finish line. We’ve got a video, too. Read More »

The Power of Interval Training: Video

Want to know the secret to burning more fat and calories in less time?

Interval training!

Interval training can maximize the benefits of your cardio sesh and minimize the time you spend sweating. Not only will you grow stronger, but you’ll burn more fat, more calories, and give your heart a better workout, too. It’s a win, win, win situation.

It’s easy to add intervals to any workout. Simply alternate high-intensity bursts of speed with low-intensity recovery periods. For example, if you were running, you would sprinkle minute-long sprints in between longer periods of jogging. Just increase and decrease your level of exertion a few times. Here’s how it works.

As with any other fitness program, you should take it slow in the beginning… and don’t forget to warm up. Soon you’ll be stronger and faster than ever. Just look at what interval training did for this guy… Read More »
