KAVU day: Biofuel Road Trip & Kayak Adventure

Outdoor apparel and accessory company, KAVU, defines a KAVU Day as “an adventure that leaves you exhilarated, exhausted and fully alive”.

So what makes for the ultimate KAVU day? KAVU_logo.JPG

Seth Warren & Tyler Bradt are pretty sure it’s a road trip on the Pan-American Highway (from Alaska to the southern tip of South America), in a veggie oil-fueled fire truck named “Baby”. Kayaking and surfing along the way, the KAVU team stopped at schools and in cities to spread their alternative fuel message. Traveling some 34,000 kilometers on waste oil from fast food restaurants and other oily sources like palm and canola, they showed people that petroleum is NOT the only way.

You can watch the movie they made here if you download the Divx player. The whitewater shots alone are well worth it.

This is one of the singlemostcoolest trips I’ve ever heard of. Seth and Tyler, along with being some great guys, really did it right. Managing to stay friends after it all…priceless. The video should be granted one of those awards where you stand up and thank your publicist and crew. There were rumors of a hiatus during January for a Sake Bomb in Salt Lake, but no one can yet confirm. Seth…Tyler…GREAT JOB. Also, KAVU has always had a place in my life, from the strap cap to the Bamboo shirt I’m wearing…really…right now…It’s on…and it’s environmentally friendly – like the people at KAVU.
