America Has Gone to the Dogs: Video

America loves dogs.
We love dogs more than we love movies, video games, and music combined. We love dogs more than cars… and definitely more than football players.
People are outraged over Falcon QB Michael Vick’s dogfighting ring. Just yesterday a woman paid $7400 on ebay for dog-chewed Michael Vick collector cards. The proceeds from this auction, and ones like it, are going to the Humane Society.
Leona Helmsley, deceased hotel tycoon, loved her dog so much that she left it a $12 million trust fund when she passed. That’s a lot more than her grandchildren got (two of them didn’t get anything)!
Some people are so crazy for dogs that they dress them up in fancy outfits and give them personal stylists. Last week was Pet Fashion Week in NYC. Seriously. Pet Fashion Week is real (real weird).
And then there’s the rest of us who just like to run, walk, or hike with our dogs. Our furry best friends provide us with companionship and unconditional love. But it’s not all fun and games. There is a downside (or backside rather), to hanging with our furry friends. Cleaning up after them can be a bit of a drag. Thankfully, this new product is here to save the day…
Hmmm…
Wouldn’t it be less embarrassing (for you and the dog), to carry a plastic bag like everyone else, pick the mess up with the bag covering your hand, turn the bag inside out, and toss it in the nearest trash can?
If you’re owned by a dog or two and want to share a photo with us, send it on in!

I noticed you say here, ‘We love dogs more than cars… and definitely more than football players.’ Just remember that not all football players abuse dogs the way Michael Vick did.
Maybe it should say, ‘We love dogs more than Michael Vick does’?

Hi Sarah,
Thanks for your comment!
I see what you’re saying. I did not mean to imply that all football players abuse dogs the way Michael Vick did–certainly they do not. Football has nothing to do with dogfighting. I’m positive that the NFL is as disgusted with Vick’s behavior as we are. I simply meant to say that our society loves dogs and will not tolerate dogfighting, no matter how famous and talented the organizer may be.
Thanks for reading The Blogging Post and taking time to voice your opinion. Have a great day!

I SEE WHAT YOU ARE SAYING HOW PEOPLE LOVE THERE DOG MORE THAN FOOTBALL PLAYERS. BUT I DO NOT UNDER STAND HOW I HAS TO DO ANY THING WITH THE ABUSE.
SO OVER ALL WE LOVE DOGS AND DO NOT ABUES THEM OR ELS! LOL

That doesn’t seem fair at all, Pete. I’m sorry to hear that.
