Caffeine Boosts Workout & Protects Skin
Everybody knows that an espresso will wake you up
–and that a double shot will really wake you up. But did you know that a cup of coffee can actually help you get more out of your workout?
New studies are showing that caffeine helps boost performance and fights fatigue so you can exercise longer.
But isn’t coffee a diuretic? Well, yes, but according to the article, it may not dehydrate you all that much. Turns out, your morning coffee won’t make you shrivel up like a prune at mile 3. And what’s more, when combined with exercise, caffeine may actually fight skin cancer, too.
So go ahead and enjoy a cup of joe before you hit the road, gym, or trail. Better yet, have a cup of green tea for an antioxidant-packed caffeine boost.
Just avoid getting your caffeine from a soda can (or pop can, depending on where you live). You’ll have a sugar crash at mile 3 if you drink that stuff. Plus, it’s just not good for you.
